ethos

Alex Frazer joined as head in September 2024, bringing almost 30 years of independent-school experience. Previously director of projects at North London Collegiate School and head of Wolverhampton Grammar School. He studied modern languages at Cambridge and is academically serious while championing a broad co-curricular base. He believes school 'should be joyful' and that pupils should leave with academic and wider skills, independence of thought, and the ability to 'be a positive influence on the world around them'. He promotes humanities alongside STEM and is developing the 'Beyond Bancroft's' alumni and fundraising network.

pastoral

Pastoral care is built around the house system; tutors and house staff provide daily contact and consistency. Older students take responsibility for wellbeing, engage with younger pupils, and deliver PSHE material peer-to-peer. Workshops throughout the year address digital technology, academic pressures, and positive mental-health strategies for both pupils and parents. The school has close ties to The Drapers' Company. Community engagement includes: a weekly Phab social club for physically impaired visitors, swimming sessions with children from a local special-needs school, science and modern languages fairs with local primaries, and matinee performances open to the local community.
