Read Geography at King's College London, completed PhD by age 24 in urban river response to engineering intervention. Studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge, taught for several years before retraining at King's College London to pursue medicine. Returned to teaching with a series of roles at Haberdashers' Aske's School for Girls including Head of English, Assistant Head and Deputy Head (Academic).
