He is passionate about social mobility—citing the school's founding story of William Sevenoke, a foundling who became Mayor of London in 1418—and has increased the number of free and assisted places. The Sevenoaks Foundation is gearing up to widen accessibility further ahead of the school's 600th anniversary in 2032. Elzinga is working towards carbon neutrality and is engaged with the Harvard Human Flourishing Programme to foster synthesis of knowledge across disciplines. Pioneer of IB in the UK; the whole sixth form takes the IB Diploma. Lessons are taught at pace; setting in maths and languages only. Heavy prior tutoring can be exposed. **Results (2024):** - 87% of GCSEs graded 9–7; 15 pupils achieved 10 or more grade 9s - Median IB score: 42 points (~10 above world average); mode of 41 **University destinations (2024):** - 21 of 23 medicine applicants received offers - 165 offers at US universities including Harvard, Brown, Yale, Duke and Stanford Partnerships with other leading IB schools worldwide include summer exchange programmes and sharing of expertise.

Boarding available from Year 9; approximately one third of pupils board, rising in the sixth form. Eight boarding houses (three boys', three girls', one boys' sixth-form, one girls' sixth-form) set around gardens. Pupils learn to cook (building to three-course dinners); sixth formers also do their own laundry. Around 75% of boarders remain on weekends with organised activities. Pastoral system is tutor-group based: tutor groups for Years 7–8, then new groups for middle school and sixth form. Divisional heads are trained in pastoral care, mental health and safeguarding.
