About This Programme

The Excellence Camp is Institut Le Rosey's selective two-week adventure for a small group of around ten motivated teenagers, combining a mountaineering week in the Swiss Alps with an offshore navigation week in the Arctic. In the Bernese and Wallis Alps participants hike, rock-climb, cross glaciers and via ferrata, and live in mountain huts; they then fly from Geneva to cruise the northwest coast of Svalbard, learning route calculation and navigation aboard a yacht. It is a demanding, immersive expedition for adventurous young people.
Schedule
Week 1: alpine hiking, rock climbing, via ferrata, glacier and crevasse crossings, daily camp set-up in mountain huts. Week 2: yacht sailing and Arctic navigation off Svalbard, swimming and stand-up paddling.
