How to read this
- Distribution — each row shows the 25th–75th percentile of published award percentages, with the median tick and the maximum recorded. Honorary scholarships with no fee remission don't carry a percentage.
- Scholarship vs bursary — most large fee remission at top schools is means-tested bursary, not competitive scholarship. Scholarships rarely exceed 50% by policy.
- Deadlines catch most parents out — many fall in the autumn before the entry year. Open a school to see its scholarship categories, award sizes and key dates.
