Scholarships & bursaries
Most schools list their scholarships as honour and prestige. The money behind them varies wildly. Here's the distribution per category — so you know whether a sport scholarship at the school you're visiting typically means £2k or £25k off the bill.

These rows use published school or foundation figures. Where a school says “up to 100%” but does not publish pupil numbers or budget, we keep those fields blank rather than estimating.

How to read this
- Distribution — the box for each category shows the 25th, 50th and 75th percentile of published award percentages. Many schools advertise scholarships as “honorary” with no fee remission; those don't carry a percentage and aren't in the boxes.
- Means-tested vs competitive — most fee remission at the top schools is bursary, not scholarship. Scholarships rarely exceed 50% by policy. Eton's 100% is a bursary masquerading by name.
- Award counts appear only where a school publishes pupils supported, awards granted or annual bursary spend. If the source does not publish the year, we leave the year blank.
- Deadlines catch most parents out — many fall in the autumn before the entry year. Where we have an upcoming date, the row shows it.
